Wherever consumer insight is needed, that’s where! We have recently added Mexico and Japan to the list of countries in which we’ve collected consumer insight data. We’ve Expanded our
African American Panel

In December, 2007, Essence magazine recommended Market Reader Pro™ to its readers. As a result of this recommendation in Essence, we have increased the number of African-American women on our internal panel by 24.8% in the last six weeks of 2007. These new consumers, in this traditionally hard-to-reach demographic, add great value to the internal panel that we bring to you, our market research clients.

Essence magazine, the award-winning “preeminent lifestyle magazine for today’s African-American woman” has a monthly circulation of well over one million and a readership of eight million. Essence can be found on newsstands or on the Web.

Women Consumers Respond:

Home Technology

In December, 2007, we asked roughly 2,000 of our female panelists the following question: “Which one of the following new technologies is at the top to your wish list for 2008?

“Computer with Latest Operating System” was the most wanted item for our female panelists in all age groups. For most age groups, a “GPS System” or “Wireless HDTV” generated the greatest interest after the “Computer” with 13-15% of people selecting both of these choices as top of their wish lists.

After “Computer,” only 18-24 year olds selected choices other than the “GPS” or “Wireless HDTV;” this age group wants “Internet friendly cell phones” (14%), “Next Generation Video Consoles” (13%), and “Updated Mp3 Players” (12%). Whether a panelist lived in a rural, suburban, or urban setting did not influence most of the “wish list” trends that we found, with one exception: rural panelists were more likely to select the top item, “Computer with the latest operating system,” than were their urban and suburban peers. Rural dwellers ranked items in the same order as non-rural dwellers, but a larger percentage of them selected “Computer.” “Smart Home Lighting” and “Smart Home Security” came in at 6% or less, even for older panelists.

A major Japanese cosmetics manufacturer is now successfully marketing and selling their first product in the U.S. with the help of Market Reader Pro™.

Our online ad-testing of over 3,400 women from the targeted demographic provided feedback that is being used to help create a successful U.S. marketing campaign.

Our product shipment to 1,000 survey participants helped create a buzz about the product, as seen on social networking sites and in the visits to their website – which skyrocketed!


Leading Appliance Manufacturer
Builds on Success

Market Reader Pro™ Real-world feedback from consumers for a leading major home appliance manufacturer helped improve their latest pre-launch product. This project included:

  • Recruitment and selection of very geographically and demographically targeted consumers
  • Online surveys, in-home interviews, phone support of consumers, and data reporting were provided over a six month period
  • Product improvement recommendations based on consumer likes and dislikes following in-home use of the appliance
  • Recommendations from our consumer panelists are being incorporated into the final design of this new appliance which is scheduled for market launch in May, 2008

Our Consumers Help Improve
Intimate Apparel

Women on our consumer panel are currently testing intimate apparel for one of the largest apparel manufacturers in the U.S. For this study, 13,000 women were recruited by Market Reader Pro™ to take an online survey regarding intimate apparel. Data on fit, size, comfort, styling, and other attributes of the intimate apparel was collected in the survey.

Several hundred (happy!) women have received intimate apparel worth approximately $150 and are wear-testing several different styles of the apparel in their homes. Market Reader Pro™ handled the distribution and tracking of the products being tested. Results of the large online survey will be used to guide further research with the in-home product testers.


Home and Garden Product
Concepts Being Tested

An online concept test of potential, updated models of a popular new home and garden product is in process. 12 concepts and 39 images are included in the concept test. 4,800 of our panelists completed the online concept test surveys. Randomly selected consumers from the study will each receive a sample of this product, which retails for $99.95. Product distribution to consumers will build brand awareness while providing critical market feedback to the company.

Study Now Underway

Market Reader Pro™ is currently conducting an online survey of consumers in France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the U.K., and the U.S. We will be surveying these consumers about their use of a common household product.
